Job Summary: As a Storekeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the food store, beverage store and general store inventory management and ensuring the efficient operation of all three stores. Your primary duties will include receiving, storing, issuing, and managing inventory items essential for the F&B outlet’s daily operations. You will work closely with other departments to ensure adequate stock levels, minimize waste, and uphold quality standards. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Receiving and inspecting all incoming deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
2.Properly storing items in designated locations within the storeroom to maximize space utilization and facilitate easy retrieval.
3.Issuing inventory items as per requisitions from various hotel departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
4.Maintaining accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
5.Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
6.Monitoring inventory levels and initiating purchase orders to replenish stock as needed, while minimizing overstocking and waste.
7.Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the handling and storage of inventory items.
8.Collaborating with purchasing departments to identify cost-effective purchasing strategies and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
9.Conducting regular audits of the storeroom to ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures.
10.Assisting in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
11.Training and supervising junior storekeeping staff to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
12.Communicating effectively with other departments to understand their inventory needs and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Job requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality management or supply chain management is a plus.
At least 2 years of experience working in a 5-star hotel as a storekeeper.
Knowledge about wine and spirits
Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to inventory handling and storage.
Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
