JOB SUMMARY

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Take in Room Dining orders over the phone

  • Sell and upsell food and beverage items.

  • Describe dishes and inform the guest on how the food is prepared and cooked and on the type of beverage available.

  • Be punctual, greet colleagues and reports to supervisor upon arrival for duties.

  • Arrive at work well groomed, prepared and display enthusiasm.

  • Well prepared for a long day contribution and utilize time effectively.

  • Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.

  • Contribute to departmental standards and best practices.

  • Anticipate and service of guests' requirements before requests is necessary.

  • Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.

  • Be familiar with the beverage service including stemware used and appropriates garnishes.

  • Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and has all tables set according to standard.

  • Utilize the hotel's computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readings.

  • Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver.

  • Ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem, which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved.

  • Service all needs for private dining room or private function.

  • Recognize and address potential disruptive or undesirable guests.

  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.
    Retrieve and stock all linen, china, silver, glassware and food and beverage items.

  • Provide unobtrusive and professional service.

  • Attend all the training subjects to the service colleagues and follows all rules and policies of the hotel.

  • Handle cash and credit card procedures according to the guidelines of the accounting department.

Job requirements


CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Basic hotel school diploma

  • 2 year minimum experience working in a multicultural / 5 star hotel environment.

  • Multi skilled.

  • Experience in food and beverage or event field.

  • Speed and accuracy. (able to manage last minute activities)

  • Must be clear and easy to understand over the phone

  • Experience in upselling a plus.

  • Ability to handle luxury guest volumes on a daily basis.

  • Should be able to work under pressure in a customer service environment.

  • Must be flexible and ability to work long hours.

  • Creative and positive mind set.
