Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, bake, and present bakery items (breads, rolls, croissants, Danish pastries, etc.) according to hotel recipes and quality standards.
Assist in the creation and innovation of bakery menus, ensuring consistency and excellence.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of all bakery items and ingredients.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the bakery section at all times.
Follow instructions from senior chefs and work harmoniously with the pastry and kitchen team.
Monitor baking temperatures and times to produce consistent quality.
Operate and maintain bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers with care.
Ensure mise en place is prepared for the daily bakery operations.
Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and requisitioning of ingredients when needed.
Adhere to HACCP and hotel safety protocols.
Job requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a 4 or 5-star hotel or upscale bakery.
Diploma or certificate in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts preferred.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and presentation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
