Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, bake, and present bakery items (breads, rolls, croissants, Danish pastries, etc.) according to hotel recipes and quality standards.

  • Assist in the creation and innovation of bakery menus, ensuring consistency and excellence.

  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of all bakery items and ingredients.

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the bakery section at all times.

  • Follow instructions from senior chefs and work harmoniously with the pastry and kitchen team.

  • Monitor baking temperatures and times to produce consistent quality.

  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers with care.

  • Ensure mise en place is prepared for the daily bakery operations.

  • Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and requisitioning of ingredients when needed.

  • Adhere to HACCP and hotel safety protocols.

Job requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a 4 or 5-star hotel or upscale bakery.

  • Diploma or certificate in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and presentation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
